How the Wealth Gap Is Affecting Real Estate Investors

Here’s a closer look at how the wealth gap is creating problems.

Today I want to talk about a really big issue in the real estate investment world and society in general: the wealth gap. The difference between the haves and the have nots has never been wider than it is now in this country.

This is creating a society of investors who are seeing a lot of institutional money and a lot of assets, but a great majority of folks don’t have that. This is creating a huge influx in renters as opposed to buyers. As we see the younger generation coming up, a lot of them don’t have the savings to buy a home, but they do have money to rent.

Rent control can be downright scary as a property owner.

We’re starting to see some renter law changes. In San Antonio, renters are fighting for their rights and want to establish a Renter’s Commission. This can be downright scary as a property owner. Rent control is very popular on the west coast, and can put property owners in a pickle.

If you can’t raise your rent, it could really affect your return on investment. I just wanted to keep you aware of this critical time in our society where renters might change the course of your investment by fighting for their rights.

If you have any questions for me about this topic or property management in general, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
